<p>The Appalachian College Association is a consortium of 33 private liberal arts colleges spread across the central Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.</p>

<p>The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is a regional economic development agency that represents a partnership of federal, state, and local government. Established by an act of Congress in 1965, ARC is composed of the governors of the 13 Appalachian states and a federal co-chair, who is appointed by the president. Local participation is provided through multi-county local development districts.</p>

<p>The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education is the leading typology of American colleges and universities. It is the framework in which institutional diversity in U.S. higher education is commonly described. Most of the Carnegie Foundation’s higher education projects rely on the Classification to ensure a representative selection of participating individuals and institutions.</p>

<p>Founded in 1956, CIC is an association of independent colleges and universities working together to support college leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance private higher education’s contributions to society. CIC is the only national organization that focuses solely on providing services directly to independent colleges and universities.</p>

<p>The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) is an institutionally based association of higher education human resource (HE-HR) professionals.</p>

<p>The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) is a national information system designed to provide users with ready access to an extensive body of education-related literature.</p>
<h3><a href="http://www.heri.ucla.edu/">HERI: Higher Education Research Institute</a></h3>
<p>The Higher Education Research Institute is based in the Graduate School of Education &amp; Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. The Institute serves as an interdisciplinary center for research, evaluation, information, policy studies, and research training in postsecondary education. HERI’s research program covers a variety of topics including the outcomes of postsecondary education, leadership development, faculty performance, federal and state policy, and educational equity.</p>
<h3><a href="http://nces.ed.gov/IPEDS/">IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System)</a></h3>
<p>IPEDS established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for NCES, is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education. IPEDS is a single, comprehensive system designed to encompass all institutions and educational organizations whose primary purpose is to provide postsecondary education. The IPEDS system is built around a series of interrelated surveys to collect institution-level data in such areas as enrollments, program completions, faculty, staff, and finances.</p>

<p>The purpose of the Association is to advance research and knowledge leading to greater understanding, planning, and operation of institutions of post secondary education throughout the state of Kentucky.</p>
<h3><a href="https://kcews.ky.gov/">KYStats: Kentucky Center for Statistics</a></h3>
<p>The Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYStats) collects and links data to evaluate education and workforce efforts in the Commonwealth. This includes developing reports and providing statistical data about these efforts so policy makers, agencies, and the general public can make better informed decisions. The Kentucky P20 Data Collaborative has been dissolved and its work is now being continued and expanded upon by KYStats. This includes maintaining the Kentucky Longitudinal Data System (KLDS), a statewide longitudinal data system, as well as responding to requests for data and information, and providing reports on a number of topical areas including feedback about the performance of high school graduates after they go to college, developing the Kentucky County Profiles, and information about the outcome of teacher preparation, college, adult education, and other programs.</p>

<p>The Council on Post secondary Education is charged with leading the reform efforts envisioned by state policy leaders.</p>

<p>The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are related to education in the United States and other nations.</p>
<h3><a href="http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/">Digest of Education Statistics</a></h3>
<p>The Digest provides a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from prekindergarten through graduate school. The Digest contains data on a variety of topics, including the number of schools and colleges, teachers, enrollments, and graduates, in addition to educational attainment, finances, and federal funds for education, libraries, and international comparisons.</p>
<h3><a href="https://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=76">NCES Study of College Costs and Prices</a></h3>
<p>This study examines the relationship between costs and prices at groups of public and private not-for-profit institutions, and explores the potential association between financial aid and tuition, using data primarily from the Integrated Post secondary Education Data System (IPEDS).</p>
<h3><a href="http://www.sacscoc.org/">SACSCOC: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges</a></h3>
<p>The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges is the recognized regional accrediting body in eleven U.S. Southern states and in Latin America for those institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, and master’s of doctoral degrees.</p>

<p>The Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) is dedicated to the advancement of research leading to improved understanding, planning, and operation of institutions of Post secondary education.</p>
<h3><a href="http://www.workcolleges.org/">Work Colleges Consortium (WCC)</a></h3>
<p>Berea College is a member of this consortium along with six other colleges that all have work programs.  On each campus, there has been a historical recognition of the value of work and an institutional commitment to promote an understanding of that value among students through establishment of a work program. These work programs help students to understand work as a tool for experiential education, as a means of serving the community, and as a place for integrating academic learning, practical knowledge, and life lived in the larger community. The colleges blend courses in liberal learning and applied studies with their own particular vision of the undergraduate curriculum.</p>
